Awesome, super fun event, right in our own “back yard”. This has become one of the top events in the country, attracting top pilots from all over. This year’s list included Jason Krause, Nick Maxwell, Jamie Robertson, Ben storick, Art Hughes, Todd Bennet, Devon Conners and of course the AMain team was in full force with Frank Columbia, Tim Jones, Devin LaBlanc, Leon Luke, Wesley Griffith and Andrew Merlino. As usual the NEHC did a first class job organizing and running the event. Perfect sunny and cool New England weather throughout the event. The food was excellent, which included a Saturday night’s pilot dinner prepared by a pro chef, who happens to be a new member of NEHC, what could be better! The flying was “off the hook” all day on Saturday. One of the highlights was a three-way tandems with Frank, Art and Andrew, this were exiting, crowd loved them. Saturday afternoon there was even an attempt at a world record, most helis hovering. At one point there were over 100 documented helis hovering, quite an impressive sight and sound. Unfortunately we heard that the record attempt fell a few helis short. This event has also become known for epic night flying and this year was no exception. After the pilot dinner, Andrew started the night with a crazy spotlight flight, that got the crowd going in the night flying mode. There were a few flights with lighted helis, but the night was dominated by good old fashion “redneck spotlight” flying. Lots of pilots, including Andrew, Tim, Devon, Devin, Ben, Jamie and Nick were tearing up the sky until close to midnight. A pretty good crowd hung around to witness the action right to the very end. The crowd disbanded around 1:00am. That was fun, definitively a must go event.
