This past Saturday I attended the Ernie Huber Memorial Heli Fun fly. This is a yearly favorite local event held at the Crow Island Airfied in Stow MA. The event is dedicated to the late Ernie Huber, a famed local pioneer in many aspects of the hobby of RC Helicopters. The place is interesting, being an active airfield, with occasional incoming and departing air traffic consisting of single engine small planes and ultralights. All helis must land when there is full scale traffic, but this only happened a couple of times during the day.
The event draws a pretty good heli crowd from around New England. With the good weather there was plenty of excellent flying all around. My Trex 700Es got quite a workout. These V3 machines continue to be excellent performers. However, something new, in the afternoon, I did get to maiden my new Goblin 500. What a fun little machine!! (More on this later, including a review).
Below are a couple videos of my flights as well as a playlist to the flights that were recorded at the event.
